Background

The North Fair Oaks Community Festival is a day-long event on August 19, 2012. The scholarships are awarded by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office from the proceeds of the North Fair Oaks Community Festival. All proceeds support the Sheriff's Office in providing county youth with year-round, school-based programs such as DARE, Sheriff’s Activities League, Explorer Posts and STAR camp.

This is the fifth year that the Queen of the Festival Scholarship program is being offered. The purpose of the scholarship is to promote the festival, support the Sheriff’s youth programs and to honor local girls that have demonstrated commitment to serving their community.
